DesignBank is a mechanism for defining, storing, accessing, managing, disseminating and relating pertinent information about your enterprise, its data, and its software systems. It is a metadata repository in the purest sense of the word.
Any information that you deem relevant to the artifact can be stored and managed with the artifact in a unit called a Package. The Package can contain documents such as text, spreadsheets, project plans, presentations as well as any other information that will be useful when researching, analyzing or reusing the artifact.
DesignBank accommodates all levels of users from strategic planners to modelers. User access is easily controlled at login. All user, group and repository administration is handled through a user friendly interface. The level of security is determined by the administrator and is easily customizable. This security ensures the integrity of the data that is changed and managed in DesignBank while allowing other users to browse and query the repository for information.
DesignBank unobtrusively guides the users through the Package's lifecycle. The status of the Package is readily available to users as is pertinent information like the owner, development status, keywords, Zachman classification etc. The information is also available through WEB access for remote locations.
DesignBank can be installed On-Site or MMC will Host your repository. Whether you choose to have DesignBank on-site or have MMC host it, the functionality is the same.
